BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mt. Hope Bible Camp is owned and governed by a Board of Directors, also known as the Ohio Bible Conference, Inc. The board serves as a policy-making board providing guidance, instruction, and counsel to the camp directors.
JONATHAN KING
Jonathan King has served on the Board of Directors for 2 years, but has been connected to Mt. Hope Bible Camp for nearly 40 years. He began attending as a camper, but has more recently served as evangelist. One of Jonathan's favorite things about camp is that it provides an opportunity for the body of Christ to work together and to demonstrate to campers true Christian community. Jonathan manages a water utility in Lucasville, Ohio and also serves as pastor at Hill's Chapel in Otway. Jonathan and his wife, Amanda have two children, Zach and Abby and live in Otway, Ohio.
BRETT WILSON
Brett Wilson has served on the Board for over 7 years, and has been involved with Mt. Hope Bible Camp for nearly 28 years. While being involved with Mt. Hope Bible Camp, he has served in many positions, including Program Director, Head Cabin Leader, Cabin Leader, Bible Teacher, and Evangelist. Mt. Hope Bible Camp is a special place to Brett, and he loves seeing the opportunity kids have to hear about and receive Jesus. Brett enjoys music, and enjoys worshiping through singing, and playing the piano and guitar. Brett is married to his wife, Sara, and have two children – Ty and Aubrey. Together they serve as Mt. Hope Bible Camp Directors. Brett and his family reside in Otway, Ohio, and attend Hills Chapel CU Church.
JOHN JOLLY
John has served on the board of directors for over 4 years and mostly recently serving in the capacity of treasurer for the ministry. John grew up attending as a camper before participating in the SMI training to later serve as staff. John and his wife, Teresa have volunteered in nearly every position and even for a short time lived on the grounds serving as caretakers. John works as a pharmacist with CVS Pharmacy in Hillsboro, Ohio. John and his family live in Hillsboro, OH and attend Freedom Fellowship.
TIM AMBURGEY
Tim has served on the board for over 4 years and involved with the ministry for years prior. Tim is the high school guidance counselor at Northwest High School (McDermott, OH) and helps provide a much needed perspective on the needs, both spiritually and emotionally, of the youth in our area. Tim, and his wife, Sabrina reside in Lucasville, Ohio and attend Hills Chapel Church.
DENNIS GROOMS
Board Member
Dennis Grooms has served on the Mt. Hope Bible Camp Board for over 20 years, and has been involved with the camp for over 38 years. While at Mt. Hope Bible Camp, Dennis has served as Cabin Leader, Head Cabin Leader, and Bible Teacher. His favorite aspect of Camp is the emphasis placed upon the Bible and the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Dennis, from Blue Creek, Ohio, is a Teacher and also serves as the Pastor of Moore’s Chapel UMC Church.
PEGGY JOLLY
Peggy Jolly has been involved with Mt. Hope Bible Camp for 44 years, and has served on the board for over 30 years. While at Camp, she has served as Cabin Leader, Dean of Women, Cook, Recreation Director, Bible Teacher, Cook, Dishwasher, and Camp Director. Mt. Hope has helped to boost Peggy’s spiritual life, and her favorite part is leading young people to Christ. In addition to having a great impact on her life, the camp has greatly influenced her three children. Mt. Hope Bible Camp is also special to Peggy, as both she and her daughter held their weddings there. Peggy, a retired teacher and farmer, and her husband Dean live in Hillsboro, Ohio, and attend Living Springs Community Church.
JEFF MORGAN
Jeff Morgan has served on the board for over 12 years, and has been involved with Mt. Hope Bible Camp for the past 35 years. Jeff has held many positions at the camp, including Cabin Leader, Program Director, Maintenance and Repair, Cook, Boys Head Cabin Leader, Song Leader, and Pioneer Camp Leader. His favorite part of Mt. Hope Bible Camp is seeing God’s Word work in changing lives. He says that God’s Word is timeless: for every generation, every people, from anywhere! Jeff is a Rural Mail Carrier for the US Postal Service, and is also a pilot, scuba diver, and enjoys riding his motorcycle. Jeff and his wife Anita reside in Peebles, Ohio, and attend Evergreen Baptist Church.
MIKE MAPLE
Mike Maple has served on the Mt. Hope Bible Camp Board for over 5 years, and has been involved with the camp for the past 40 years. Mt. Hope Bible Camp has become a vital part of Mike’s summers, where he has served as Cabin Leader, Head Boys Cabin Leader, Bible Teacher, and a variety of other needed positions. One of Mike’s favorite things about camp is the ability to disconnect from the outside world and focus on God and Bible for a week at a time, with no distractions such as electronics. Mike considers it an honor to be included on the board, and entrusted with the continued ministry that was started many years ago, to reach the youth of Southern Ohio. Mike works for the US Postal Service. He and his wife Lori have two daughters, and live in Waverly, Ohio. They attend Waverly Bible Christian Church.
DERIC COX
Deric has served on the board of directors for over 3 years, but he and his wife, Mary Ellen have been a part of the Mt. Hope family for years. Deric has served in a number of capacities as staff, mostly recently volunteering a week at a time to help with maintenance. Deric works as an engineer in Chillicothe. Deric and and his family live in Chillicothe, OH and attend Mt. Tabor Community Christian Church.
MISTY BAILEY
Out of a relationship with Swauger Valley FWB Church, Misty and her family heard of Mt. Hope Bible Camp and started attending as campers and staff over eleven years ago. Misty and her husband, Roger, along with their three children, have served at camp in a number of capacities. Misty is a homeschool mom who works for several home school curriculum companies helping with social media management and marketing. Misty and her family reside in Wheelersburg, Ohio and attend First Baptist Church of Russell, KY. She has served on the board at Mt. Hope Bible Camp since 2020.
